Welcome to Theo Bernard, who arrived very quickly on October 16th. He is beautiful, just like his brother. I am retiring this weblog for the immediate future. I simply do not have time these days to sit down and edit. I am switching my photo delivery method to Snapfish - if you would like to be invited to look at my albums, please email me and let me know. Pictures from September:
And now you can order these pictures from Snapfish if you like: just click on September '05. Okay, here I am, after a long and kind of crazy summer. First of all, I am very pregnant and due October 19th. Also, we bought our first house and moved into it last month. My husband started a new job during all of this. It's been a little busy, and even though it's all been changes for the better, it was still stressful. We are slowly unpacking and figuring out where things should go. It's a process. Oh, and happy Sept. 11th. Welcome Rachel Sage!
I got a new camera! It's my first digital camera, a fancy SLR Canon, and it's really great. Here are some recent shots of visits with family and friends:
Our last trip to Syracuse featured marshmallow dipping and a lot of kids running around without clothes:
And then we visited Wendy and Russ for my sister's birthday, and Henry couldn't keep his hands off the big belly:
The next weekend, Duane and Henry baked some yummy things and we had friends over to help us eat them: Last week we went with Laura and Lily to the bulb show at Smith, pictures courteous of Laura:
And we've been trying to get outside when the temps are not so punishing:
It's so nice to have some decent 40 and 50 degree weather after such ridiculous cold. We took a nice walk to the park, walked around town, went out for dinner at the Tibetan place, etc. The fresh air cleared my head, leading me to thoughts of renewal, and change, and revival....and I'd better update this page before someone named Wendy strangles me. This morning I did a little yoga, and Duane did some too. As he was doing upward dog Henry climbed onto the backs of Duane's legs and up towards Duane's back. Duane said, "okay, get ready Henry," and Duane moved into downward dog. Henry had his arms around Duane's waist, and began to slip down Duane's legs, taking Duane's pants with him. The result was a daddy downward dog with a full moon. I so wish I had captured it on video. Not that I'd be able to publish it here. So I went to see Antibalas the other night, and boy were they great. Just what I needed to hear (funky Afrobeat music with a leftist message) after the election. Speaking of, want to see something really disheartening? Watch "Video the Vote" to see what was going on in Ohio. If anyone wants to buy me a present for the holidays, give me one of these! This guy documented his hideous sweater collection cleanup. Amusing. Happy Election Day! I'm really frightened to see what happens tonight. Hopefully we'll know who won within the next 24 hours, unlike last time. Halloween was a blast, Henry dressed up like a Wild Thing from Sendak's book. Most people knew what he was. He loved it, as you can see. He rumpussed all over town.
The last picture is post-Jello.
Ok, tons of pictures, way overdue. First, Henry's birthday, early August:
And more from Coventry:
And some from September, including a visit with Grampa Roger:
